<p>PURPOSE:To prevent generation of buckling and to perform good sheet edging by installing horizontal rolling mills in the inlet and outlet sides of a vertical rolling mill edging a rolled stock and applying a prescribed tension to the stock by controlling respective speeds of both the horizontal mills. CONSTITUTION:A speed arithmetic unit 25 outputs a speed command signal V1 to a motor 15 of a horizontal rolling mill 2 based on a speed command signal VP and a correction coefficient k1. A speed controller 26 controls the motor 15 based on the signal V1 to drive the mill 2. For control of a horizontal rolling mill 4, a coefficient device 27 multiplies the signal V1 by a coefficient and the product is inputted to a speed arithmetic unit 31. Therefore, a speed command signal V1 outputted from the unit 31 is large by an amount corresponding to the coefficient, so that the signal V1 is somewhat larger than the signal V1 for the mill 2. As the result, sheet width control is performed without generation of shape defects such as buckling because a small tension is applied to a rolled stock 1 edged by a vertical rolling mill 3.</p> |
