PURPOSE:To obtain the title resin composition improved in low-temperature impact strengths, by mixing a thermoplastic polyester mainly consisting of ethylene terephthalate units with a maleic anhydride-graft modified polyolefin in a specified mixing ratio and melt-kneading the resulting mixture. CONSTITUTION:100pts.wt. thermoplastic polyester (A) mainly consisting of ethylene terephthalate units is mixed with 0.5-10pts.wt. maleic anhydride-graft modified polyolefin (B) (e.g., maleic anhydride-graft modified low-density polyethylene) to produce a resin composition for extruded sheets. In this way, a resin composition for molded sheets of a high low-temperature impact strength can be obtained because the maleic anhydride molecules in component B and the polyethylene terephthalate molecules in component A undergo a partial crosslinking reaction, and therefore component A can be homogeneously mixed with the polyolefin having rubberlike properties to allow the polyolefin to function effectively. |
