PURPOSE: To effectively decrease the generation of NOX in an incinerated discharged substance by a method wherein toxic waste is incinerated under the presence of air and fuel at a first incineration zone and further, the waste is combusted at a second incineration zone being reducing atmosphere, and gas insufficient in oxygen is caused to flow through a position above an oxidation catalyst for oxidation. CONSTITUTION: After toxic waste is incinerated under the presence of air and fuel at a first incineration zone 202 of a toxic waste incinerator 200, the waste is combusted on a reducing condition at a second combustion zone 204. After a heat-depleted substance from the second combustion zone 204 is fed to a boiler 216, an alkali absorbent is introduced through an inlet 218 and SO2 and HC1 are removed from gas. Further, after the gas is fed to a bag house 220 and a solid material is separated, air is added in stream in a conduit 224, and produced gaseous stream is caused to flows through a gas treating unit 226 in which the gaseous stream passes through a position above an oxidation catalyst. Thereafter, an oxidized gaseous depleted substance from the unit 226 is induced through a conduit 227 to an economizer 228 to remove heat. |
