<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the cutting of a core wire due to bending, etc., by forming a taper surface to a ferrule, fixing the folded part of a coupler directly to the ferrule with a taper ring, and using a cap which is externally fitted to an optical fiber cord, and pressing the taper ring with the cap. CONSTITUTION:The folded part 5a of a coupler 5 is pressed to a taper surface 34c of a ferrule 34 by means of a taper ring 37. The ring is fastened and fixed to the ferrule 34 via a cap 39 and a nipple 39 attached to the ferrule 34. As a result, no tension is applied to the core wire of an optical fiber although the tension affects an optical fiber cord 3.</p> |
