The invention relates to an anti-roll device for vehicles making it possible to vary the anti-roll stiffness of the vehicle during running as a function of parameters measured on the vehicle and/or of the wishes of the driver. The device consists of an anti-roll bar comprising a central part 2 and two lateral branches 3'; the branch being replaced by a strip 10 whose rotation about its axis 14 is controlled by means of a motor 13 by a logic system acting as a function of parameters measured on the vehicle. The device makes it possible to enhance the matching of the anti-roll stiffness of the vehicle to its instantaneous conditions of use (in the event of load, bends etc.). The device may be used with various operational logics on very varied vehicles: racing car, lightweight private car, all-terrain vehicle, etc. <IMAGE>
