<p>PURPOSE:To improve the accuracy of gap thickness and to prevent picture quality from deteriorating owing to the breakdown of a TFT part and an electrode wire part by providing spacers along electrodes line in parallel to it. CONSTITUTION:Glass fibers 1 as spacers which have a diameter matching with desired gap thickness and are as long as the lateral width of a thin film transistor element (TFT) substrate 2 are arranged in parallel along the electrode lines on the TFT substrate 2, and a counter electrode substrate 6 is stuck. Thus a proper number of glass fibers 1 are arrayed from the upper ends of TFT substrate electrode lines to ends and display segment and the electrodes do not cross one another. Further, there is no step between the TFT substrate electrode lines and a substrate part facing it. Consequently, uniform pressure is applied to the whole part of the glass fibers 1, parts of both substrate are not damaged, and the deterioration in picture quality due to the breakage of the TFT part is precluded.</p> |
