The novel trough form improves the hygienic and physiological feeding conditions for raising livestock. In existing barn installations, the introduction of these feed troughs offers additional bedding-down areas and thus accommodates endeavours for appropriate raising of livestock. The opening of the feed-supply lines at a low level in the trough receiver space prevents the feed from spilling out during feeding and permits ad-libitum feeding with level control and extremely small re-filling quantities of dry or liquid consistency.
