PURPOSE: To facilitate servo control of a stepping motor without recording a separate burst signal on a data track by comparing the level of prescribed signals each read out through an erasing head and thereby moving the head from a prescribed center line of the track to the inside or the outside of a disket. CONSTITUTION: With a ferrite core separated of two erasing heads, and with the erasing heads provided with a data reading function each by winding a coil, an FDD is allowed to read out data only at the time of a seek operation, so that a signal is detected from the erasing head at the time of track seek. In other words, detected signals are compared, with the head moved from the center of the track or in the direction toward the outside, so that the head is confirmed to be positioned in the center of the track at the point where the waveform of these detected signals are both at the '0' level (seek completion point); therefore, the track servo control is made possible of the stepping motor without recording separate burst signals on the data track. |
