In a watch, in particular a waterproof wrist watch with a plastic watch case, a watch glass inserted in the case and a preferably removable case back cover, a packing washer (5) is arranged between watch glass (6) and case (1). The outer circumference of the upper side of said washer facing the outer surface of the watch is larger and the outer circumference of the lower side facing the interior of the watch is smaller than the inner circumference of the upper opening in the watch case. Said washer has, at least in a partial region of its outer circumference, an inwardly tapering conical section (52). The backing washer (5) can be inserted as a distance washer between watch glass (6) and dial (4) and may, if necessary, be designed as a holder for the dial.
