PURPOSE:To improve the precision of measurement by a method wherein an output of a final stage of an approximate Gaussian filter is added to an interstage output of each filter under predetermined weighting and supplied to a gated integrator. CONSTITUTION:An output signal of a radiation detector is integrated by an integrator 3. The rates M0, M1-M3 of adding outputs of filters N1-N3 are given in equations M0=Rf/R0, M1=Rf/R1, M2=Rf/R2, M3=Rf/R3 as the ratios of a feedback resistance Rf of an operational amplifier 11 to input resistances R0, R1-R3, and weighting can be varied by selecting values of R0, R1-R3. An output (e) of the amplifier 11 is given by e=M0a2+M1b2+M2c2+M3d2 when interstage outputs are denoted by a2-d2 respectively. A gated integrator 5 is supplied with gate signals g1, g2 prepared by a timing controller 6, and the integrator 5 starts integration from the time when a radiation enters the detector 1 and ends the integration at the time point when a Gaussian waveform returns to a base line sufficiently. A wave height at that time is measured by a wave height analyzer 2.
