摘要 PURPOSE:To improve the stability of light quantity and orientational distribution by providing projections which create the same space as the inside of a bulb so as to oppose two straight tubers and making the inner diameter of communicating parts smaller than that of the straight tube parts. CONSTITUTION:After an electrodeless discharging lamp is lit up, mercury which has cohered to the air release pipes 7a and 7b evaporates in response to the temperature rise of the inside of the bulb 2. The temperature of the inside of the bulb 2 rises because the diameter of the communicating parts 2c and 2d is smaller than that of the straight tube parts 2a and 2b. If the temperature of either tube 7a is higher than the other tube 7b under some influence, the mercury diffusing in the straight part 2a diffuses surplus mercury through the communicating parts 2c and 2d. I.e., the diffusion and cohesion of mercury vapor in the discharging space of either straight tube part 2a depend on the temperature of the tube 7a, while the diffusion and cohesion of mercury evaporation in the discharging space of the other straight tube 2b depend on the temperature of the tube 7b. This causes stability.
