NEW MATERIAL:A compound, expressed by the formula and having the following physico-chemical properties. Color of substance; colorless. Elementary analysis (%); C, 69.38; H, 8.13; O, 22.50. Molecular formula; C37H52O9. Molecular weight; 640 [fast atom bombardment mass spectrometry (FABMS)]. Color reaction; positive to iodine, sulfuric acid reactions, etc., on silica gel thin layers and negative to ninhydrin, anisaldehyde and ferric chloride reactions. Solubility; insoluble in water and soluble in methanol, acetone, ethyl acetate, chloroform and hexane. Neutral, etc. USE:An insecticide, acaricide and anthelmintic agent. PREPARATION:A microorganism [e.g., Streptomyces.hygroscopicus KSB-1939 (FERM BP-1901)], belonging to the genus Streptomyces and capable of producing KSB-1939S5 compound is cultivated at 26-30 deg.C for 5-10 days, preferably by a submerged tank culture method. |
