PURPOSE:To make it possible to operate a battery for a long time by forming a double case having a space between an inner battery case and an outer battery case, forming a stack of metal foils and thin film inorganic heat insulating materials on the pace side of the inner battery case, and sealing both cases with the space kept in the high vacuum condition. CONSTITUTION:A double case having a space 9 between an inner battery case 1 and an outer battery case 2 is used, and one or more layers of stacks of metal foils such as aluminium and copper foils and a thin film inorganic heat insulating material such as quartz fiber sheet are formed on the space side of the inner battery case 1. The inner case 1 and the outer case 2 are sealed by welding or silver soldering with the space 9 kept in the high vacuum condition to form a heat insulating layer. Since the vacuum is kept when a battery 13 is operated, the stack on the inside of the battery 13 is kept at operable temperature for a long time. The battery is operable for a long time. |
