PURPOSE:To increase strength and toughness by impregnating a soln. of a precursor of ceramics into a molded body consisting of fine ceramic powder and heat resistant inorg. short fibers and by calcining the molded body to uniformly disperse the fibers in the resulting ceramics. CONSTITUTION:A slurry contg. fine ceramic powder and heat resistant inorg. short fibers is prepd. and wet-molded to form a molded body. A soln. of a precursor of ceramics is impregnated into the molded body and this molded body is dried and calcined. |
