An intubation device consists of a tube (1) open in both ends, an inflatable cuff (2) sealingly attached to the tube, means for inflating the cuff, and a protection resistant to high energy radiation covering the cuff and at least a portion of the tube above the cuff. The protection consists of a separate hose-like protective cover (12). The cover is fastened to the tube (1) at least at the end (14) of the cover positioned beneath the cuff (2). The cover (12) has at least along the portion (15) surrounding the cuff (2) an interior shape substantially corresponding to the external shape of the cuff in its inflated state. |
