1383757 Transparent polyamides HOECHST AG 8 Dec 1971 [10 Dec 1970] 57066/71 Heading C3R Transparent co-polyamides are derived from a C 7-20 aromatic dicarboxylic acid, 2-methylpentamethylene diamine and 1,3- or a mixture of 1,3- and 1,4-bis-(aminomethyl)cyclohexane the 2-methyl-pentamethylene diamine constituting 20 to 80 mol. per cent of the total diamine. Specified acids are iso- and terephthalic and 2,5-pyridine and 1,5- and 2,6- naphthalene dicarboxylic acids. The cyclic diamines are preferably trans. Reference is made to Specification 922,677. The polymers may be injection moulded. |
