<p>PURPOSE:To prepare titled optical isomer having excellent insecticidal activity, in high efficiency, by the selective asymmetric reduction of a specific compound with the cell, cultured product or treated product of a specific microbial strain. CONSTITUTION:(+)-Allethrolone is prepared by reacting 2-allyl-3-methyl-2-cyclopentene-1,4-dione of formula with the microbial cells, cultured product or treated product of microbial strain belonging to Saccharomyces genus, Candida genus, Pichia genus, Torulopsis genus, Bacillus genus, Lipodacus genus, etc. and capable of producing (+)-allethrolone from 2-allyl-3-methyl-2-cyclopentene-1,4-dione, thereby effecting the selective asymmetric reduction of the compound.</p> |
