PURPOSE:To prevent internal cracking by unbending a hollow steel billet under an adequate unbending condition. CONSTITUTION:A pinch roll 6 and a leveler 7 are provided in roughly 3/4 circumferential position in the pass line for a billet 3 and the billet 3 is formed to the shape extending roughly horizontally, in a continuous casting device wherein the solidifying point is maintained higher than the melt level A-A in a mold. A pinch roll 4 and a cutter 5 is provided in the position on the outlet side of the billet in roughly the 1/2 position in the pass line for the billet 3, that is, roughly at the same level as the melt level A-A in the mold. The roll 4 does not act as a leveler and the billet 3 is delivered while the same is cooled in the curved state in succession. The cutter 5 is used in order to make the melt level of molten metal to coincide with the melt level A-A in the mold after starting of continuous casting. |
