PURPOSE:To obtain the die of less wear and long life by executing cutting by focusing the laser beam focal point on the cutting position in a gaseous oxygen after executing the hardening of the vicinity of the cutting position by the laser beam of non-concentration in an inert gas by using the same program as that in cutting. CONSTITUTION:A laser beam 2 is condensed by a lens 3 with the same program as that in cutting by using the inert gas of Ar, N2, etc., for the assisting gas and the position on the surface of the body to be worked is made out of focus to the upper part or lower part a little from the focal point. The radiation range is taken in the range of the hardening layer 7 in the necessary thickness and the range to be heated is hardened by leaving it cooled after making it at the temp. of the hardening effect obtainable. The assisting gas is changed over to an oxygen, the focal point 9 is allowed to coincide with the surface of the body 4 to be worked and cutting is instantaneously executed by the high density energy of the laser beam 2 by the cutting program. A quenched hardening layer 7 and the hardening layer 5b accompanied by cutting are thus formed and the die of less wear and long life can be obtd. in short time. |
