Suspended solids present in waste waters are floculated, water is extracted mechanically, esp. to 60% residual moisture; dried, esp. to 5% residual moisture, and broken up (disintegrated, defibrillated) in presence of additives, opt. added before flocculation, during disintegration or admixed to dry solid. When introducing several additives, difficulty to insoluble additives or materials tending to separate during flocculation conditions are added before flocculation of suspended solids, and soluble additives are added during or directly before disintegration of solids. Materials advantageously added before flocculation are those with opposite charge to fibre material formed during flocculation. Example describes salvage of solids, e.g. sludge from paper pulping waste waters and processing with flame-inhibitor additives to form material useful as auxiliary in wood chip board mfr.
|
