There are disclosed compounds of the formula <CHEM> where R1 is loweralkoxycarbonyl, -CH2OH or -CONR3R4, R3 and R4 being independently hydrogen, loweralkyl or arylloweralkyl; and R2 is -CH2CH=CH2, <CHEM> R5 and R6 being independently loweralkyl or alternatively the group -NR5R6 as a whole being <CHEM> R7 being hydrogen, loweralkyl or arylloweralkyl; and a process for their preparation. The compounds are useful for enhancing cholinergic activity in mammals and hence for the treatment of various memory dysfunctions characterized by decreased cholinergic function such as Alzheimer's disease, and can, therefore, be used as medicaments.
