New pharmacologically active aminoketones of substituted dibenzo-and pyridobenzo-azepinones as selective antimuscarinic agents, useful in the treatment of diseases of the gastrointestinal tract of general formula (I) <CHEM> wherein R represents a C1-4 alkyl, A and B represent independently nitrogen or carbon with the proviso that A and B cannot be nitrogen at the same time X represents a substituent at a carbon atom of the fused rings selected from hydrogen, halogen, methyl, and acid addition salts thereof. The process for the preparation of the compounds of general formula (I) as well as pharmaceutical compositions containing them are also described.
