PURPOSE:To attain recording, reproducing and erasing always with optimum optical intensity even when the temperature of a medium is changed by detecting the temperature or temperature change of the recording medium and controlling the intensity of an optical beam, which is irradiated to the recording medium, in correspondence to a detected result. CONSTITUTION:A temperature sensor 23 contacts to a cartridge 22 and detects the temperature of this cartridge 22. When information are recorded, the recording is executed by irradiating a laser beam, which is emitted from a semiconductor laser 6, while a bias magnetic field is impressed from a bias magnet 21 to a revolving magneto-optical disk 11. At such a time, the semiconductor laser 6 is driven according to the recording information and the intensity of the laser beam is controlled by a CPU24 so as to be optimum recording power in the medium temperature to be detected by the temperature sensor 23. Thus, even when the temperature of the medium is changed, the information can be recorded, reproduced or erased always with the optimum optical intensity. |
