This cage comprises a bottom having at least one grid part 6, 6' which is slightly inclined to the horizontal and descends to a receptacle 60, 60' situated at the base of the cage and outside the latter, so that the eggs laid are removed automatically into the said receptacle 6, 6', and it is sub-divided into a certain number of compartments 10 by a partial partition 3, 3' which, whilst allowing free movement of the hens and the cocks, forms a series of niches which can attract the hens with a view to laying, and improving their comfort during laying. Raising of breeding hens, that is to say hens producing fertilized eggs. <IMAGE>
