Partition system for vehicle compartments

When not in use, the glass partition wall 1 resides in its slot 2 in the backrest 3 of the seat of a vehicle. When required it is raised from its slot 2, e.g. by a known electrical device, and is accommodated by lateral guide grooves 4a and b in the compartment wall and an upper guide groove 5 in the compartment ceiling. The lower edge of the glass partition remains in the slot 2, which means that the glass partition 1 is fixed on all sides. The compartment of a vehicle is thus partitioned into a front part, which constitutes the passenger compartment, and a rear part, which constitutes the luggage compartment. The throwing of objects out of the luggage compartment at the rear into the passenger compartment at the front, causing injury to the passengers, is avoided in the event of accidents or sharp braking. <IMAGE>
