A vacuum suction cup with an elastomeric body (11) which has an encircling sealing lip (12) on its one side and a device for producing a flow connection with a vacuum source on the other side. The sealing lip (12) encloses a suction space subdivided into a multiplicity of individual sealed-off suction chambers (19). Each suction chamber (19) is provided with at least one connecting passage (22) which connects the respective suction chamber to the vacuum side. Each connecting passage (22) is subdivided into a vertical section (22a) and a horizontally running section (22b). By means of the suction cup, objects with sensitive surfaces, such as newly produced concrete blocks, can be lifted and transported without the surface of the objects sustaining damage. ……
