Process for preparing polyheterocyclic compounds with metal-containing anions and their use as electrodes or conductors in electrical engineering

The preparation of electrically highly conductive polymers from 5-membered ring heterocyclic compounds, preferably from pyrroles and of compounds copolymerisable with pyrrole is described, which at the same time are of high mechanical quality and have a balanced property profile. The polymers are prepared by anodic polymerisation of the 5-membered ring heterocyclic compounds in organic polar solvents in the presence of suitable chelating supporting electrolytes or their metal salts, which result in a constant, relatively extended long-term stability.
