PURPOSE:To expand the volume of a ferrite core on the windings-side on the out-side in the direction of tape running, and to obtain a monolithic type magnetic head of high saturation magnetic flux density and high recording level by forming a winding groove in a rail-shaped core having larger volume. CONSTITUTION:The winding groove 11 is provided in the rail-shaped core 10 of large volume, and the core on the windings-side to be bonded with this core 10 is made I-shaped, therefore, the I-shaped core also can be made larger in volume. Accordingly, saturation of magnetic flux can hardly occur; since the magnetic flux concentrates in the high Bs metal oxide of the magnetic gap, a high recording magnetic field distribution can be provided for an HDD disk, hence the level of recording comes higher, a recording/reproduced output as well as overwrite characteristic can be improved. Since a metal magnetic material 13 is adhered on the flat side surface of the I-shaped core, its treatment is easy. By making the winding groove side, the winding work also can be made easier, further the number of turns can be increased. As a result, a magnetic head of high input/output level can be obtained. |
