PURPOSE:To make it possible to form a rubber composition excellent in vibration absorptivity, adhesiveness, ozone resistance, etc., without detriment to its durability such as weather resistance and thermal aging resistance, by mixing a specified hydrogenated diene polymer with an olefin rubber. CONSTITUTION:This rubber composition comprises 30-90wt.% hydrogenated diene polymer (a) obtained by hydrogenating a diene polymer having an aromatic vinyl compound content <=40wt.% and a vinyl bond content in the diene part of 25-80% to such a degree of hydrogenation that at least 85% of the olefinically unsaturated bonds of this polymer are hydrogenated and 10-70wt.% olefin rubber (b). It is desirable that said diene polymer contains 20-70wt.% branched polymer because the processability and cold flow can be improved thereby. Examples of conjugated diene monomers which constitute component (a) include butadiene and isoprene, and examples of said aromatic vinyl compounds include styrene and alpha-methylstyrene. Examples of component (b) include ethylene/propylene rubber and butyl rubber. |
