Gymnastics apparatus composed of a seat 4, of footrests 11 and of handles 2 connected together so that their relative displacements require a muscular exertion on the part of the user. The linking means is a strap 1, connecting the handles 2 and the seat 4, which passes through the two slots 5, 6 of a slide 7 in order to form a loop 8 around a shaft 9 integral with two rollers 10 on either side of the strap, beyond which it emerges in order to form the footrests 11. A sliding locking stop piece 12 is slipped onto the strap 1 between the slide 7 and the seat 4. The slide 7 bears a notch 16 for a hook of an exerciser or other accessory. <IMAGE>
