PURPOSE:To obtain an appropriate form of a recording dot easily, by a method wherein two lines of thermal head arrays are arranged in a parallel direction to a Y-axis at a certain distance between them on an X-axis, and a specific signal delay time is given between signals by which the thermal head is selected. CONSTITUTION:Both a first and a second heating resistor strips 1a, 1b are arranged parallel to a Y-axis, and the interval on an X-axis is (d), 1b passes the same position on recording paper by d/v hour earlier than 1a. When a switch element 4a2 becomes on, current flows from an individual electrode 4c2 to a common electrode 3, and a part y5 is heated to perform recording. When d/v hour has elapsed after this recording, a part of the recording paper on which y5 is recorded is sent to a position adjacent to the heating resistor strip 1b, and a signal delayed by d/v with a delay circuit 7c makes a switch element 4b3 on via a control circuit 7b. Current flows from an individual electrode 4d to the common electrode 3, and a part indicated by y6 is heated. A pitch on the y axis of this recording is p/2, and its overlap is determined by a width of the common electrode. However, the overlap can be made sufficiently large. |
