<p>A pharmaceutical compsn. consists of a central core contg 2 mg of eserine p-chlorophenoxyacetate (I) in Mg trisilicate, surrounded by a coating made of 1/3 Mg stearate and 2/3 Na dehydrocholate, this envelope contg. 100 mg glutamic acid and 200 mg papain. Used for treating inadequate gastric acid secretion. (I) is a known stimulant of acid secretion and does not have the side-effects associated with eserine itself. The other components all improve the digestive process and glutamic acid hydrochloride is a strong potentiator of (I). The Mg stearate-Na dehydrochalate coating is the one giving optimum release of (II) for a rapid effect.</p> |
