PURPOSE:To raise the operability of a steering locker by a method in which when a key cylinder is turned to locking position, the rotation of the key cylinder is interrupted, and key is pushed at unlocking position to release the couplement between a coupler and a coupling portion in such a way as to enable it to turn. CONSTITUTION:A notch 30 is formed in the periphery of the flange 15 of a key cylinder 16, end a coupler 32 with a compressive spring 33 is attached. A circular arc-shaped cam 38 is formed on the inner surface of a cover 13, and the cam 38 is coupled with the coupler 32 at on-position. When the key is turned from on-position to locking position, the coupler 32 comes into contact with the stopper face 38a of the cam 38 at the unlocking position of the cylinder 16 to interrupt the rotation of the cylinder 16. When the cylinder 16 is pushed at the unlocking position, the couplement of the coupler 32 with the cam 38 is released and the cylinder 16 is allowed to turn to the locking position, The operability of the steering locker can thus be raised. |
