PURPOSE:To easily and accurately input a position by inputting the current position of a vehicle according to intersections and effective guide information between intersections. CONSTITUTION:When the current position is inputted during traveling, an intersection input message is displayed on a display device 3 and the vehicle travels as it is and stops after passing through an intersection, so that the name of the intersection is displayed. Then the name of the intersection is recognized and the shape of the intersection is displayed. Then when the number of the current road is inputted by referring to the position of the displayed mark, the vehicle position is set as the current position. Thus, the current position is selected with position information which is stored previously to enable the position and direction to be inputted.
