PURPOSE:To obtain a flame-retarding polymer composition excellent in mechanical strengths, heat resistance and processability, by adding a flame retardant and a specified flame-retarding aid to a nonpolar alpha-olefin (co)polymer and an unsaturated carboxylic acid-modified olefin polymer. CONSTITUTION:This polymer resin composition is formed by adding 5-200pts. wt. flame retardant (c) and 0.2-40pts.wt. flame-retarding aid containing at least pentaerythritol or its product (d) of condensation through dehydration to 100pts.wt. resin component comprising 99-60wt.% nonpolar alpha-olefin (co)polymer (a) and 1-40wt.% olefin polymer (b) modified with an unsaturated carboxylic acid or its derivative. As said nonpolar alpha-olefin copolymer used, a low-density ethylene (co)polymer of a density of 0.86-0.94g/cm<3> is particularly desirable. As component (b), an ethylene homopolymer of a density of 0.86-0.97g/cm<3>, an ethylene/alpha-olefin copolymer or a blend thereof can be particularly desirably used. |
