A heat exchanger has a stack of flat tubes (1) which are arranged next to one another in parallel at a spacing and respectively have in the region of their ends through-holes (4) for conducting through a heat carrier which flows through the flat tubes (1). In the heat exchanger, the through-holes (4) of each end face of the flat tubes (1) for the feeding or discharge of the heat carrier are connected to one another, the ends of the flat tubes (1) being sealed. It is proposed in the interests of simple, weight-sparing production that each end of the flat tubes (1) is sealed by at least one endpiece (2, 2', 2'', 2''', 2'''') led into the interior of the flat tube (1) up to near the through-hole (4), and that this endpiece (2) is provided at least with a 180@ kink (3) which bears on an external side of the allocated flat tube (1), has a cutout (5) corresponding to the through-hole (4), and serves as a distance piece (spacer) between adjacent flat tubes (1). <IMAGE>
