The invention relates to a gear arrangement for coupling two engines to a working machine, in which a dependence between torque and speed prevails. The gear arrangement consists of a planetary gear which allows the overlapping of the powers of the two engines along with a free speed ratio, but a predetermined torque ratio, and of which the input shafts are connected to the driven shafts of the two engines and of which the output shaft is connected to the drive shaft of the working machine. To drive the working machine by means of only one engine, the driven shaft of the other particular engine can be fixed against the rotation in at least one direction. So that, when the working machine is driven by means of one or both engines, these can work under optimum operating conditions, the planetary gear is connected to the drive shaft of the working machine via a characteristic-conversion gear having at least two selectively shiftable transmission ratios.
