Method of fabricating a longitudinally welded tube

A method of fabricating a longitudinally welded tube for interior decoration articles or the like, according to which a thin metal strip 0.1 to 1.5 mm thick is profiled to form a longitudinally welded tube. The technical problem is the fabrication of a longitudinally welded tube in which the longitudinal weld seam has firm cohesion and can be made economically. While the longitudinal weld seam is pressed together, uninterrupted laser welding takes place, and the longitudinally welded tube is subsequently cooled down in a cooling section.
