This invention relates to an antibiotic NK86-0279 of the formula: <CHEM> which exhibits antifungal, antitumor, vascularizations-inhibitory and insecticidal activities, obtainable by culturing a microorganism of the genus Streptomyces, particularly Streptomyces bottropensis NK86-0279 (FERM BP-1787) and recovering the same from the culture medium. The invention also comprises a pure culture of this microorganism and mutants and variants thereof as well as pharmaceutical compositions comprising the new antibiotic.
