PURPOSE: To obtain a chromatography matrix that can be used for a wide range of ligand by substituting polyethyleneimine for some of 1-methyl-2- pyridoxy group being introduced to a polymer substance with a hydroxyl group. CONSTITUTION: A polymer 1, for example polysaccharide, with at least one reactive hydroxyl group is reacted with 2-fluoro-1-methylpyridiniumtoluene-4- sulfonate 2, thus obtaining 2-alkoxy-1-methylpyridinium salt 3. Then, the 2- alkoxy-methylpyridinium salt 3 is reacted with polyethyleneimine 4, thus obtaining amino end gel 5. When a target ligand has an electrophilic group that can react with the amino group of the amino end gel, a non-modified amino end gel 5 is useful as affinity-chromatography-matrix for the ligand. |
