PURPOSE:To form an emitting section having a simple structure not provided with an electrode inside a valve so as to facilitate its manufacture by disposing a toning section where a high frequency power source adjusts the ratio of energy supplied to respective dielectric coils. CONSTITUTION:When a high frequency is applied to any of respective dielectric coils 3a-3c, discharge gas is discharged near emitting regions 2a-2c corresponding to the dielectric coils 3a-3c so as to form plasma so that ultraviolet rays radiate. The ultraviolet ray are mainly irradiated to the phosphor layers of the emitting regions 2a-2c in correspondence to the dielectric coils 3a-3c to which the high frequency is applied so as to obtain light with the emitting color of the regions 2a-2c. Namely, when the high frequency is applied to the dielectric coil corresponding to the emitting region formed with the phoshor layer the emitting color of which is red, the light is colored red, and in the same way, in the case of green or blue, the light is colored green or blue. The control of a switching circuit 14 by means of a light adjusting circuit 16 and a toning circuit 17 enables the adjustment of emitting brightness as a whole, thereat, a toning section can be formed with the switching circuit 14 and the toning circuit 17. |
