Fluorescent lighting assembly with adjustable focus - has flexible side reflectors which can be bent at differing radii

This overhead assembly (1) is used to hold a tubular fluorescent lamp (6), its starter circuit (7) and the reflectors (10,81,82) which focus the light downwards. The novel feature of the present assembly is that the height of the tube can be adjusted withrespect to the fixed reflector (10) and that the curvature of the side reflectors (81,82) can be adjusted. The whole assembly is housed in a rectangular three-sided casing (2). Between the upper wall of the housingPP11 and the fixed relector (10) is a plastic extrusion which has ridges (a,b,c,d) 'stepped down' along each side. The flexible side reflectors can be adjusted together with the tube height to vary the angle at which the resultant beam of light is dispersed or focussed.
