PURPOSE:To get rid of a phase difference and to remove an even higher harmonic component, by connecting a delaying means for delaying an output of one of magnetic detecting elements, on the magnetic detecting elements haveing a differential constitution, for detecting a signal on a recording medium. CONSTITUTION:This device is equipped with an MR element 1 which responds to a magnetic field of the upper half of a recording track 3 on a magnetic tape, and an MR element 2 which responds to a magnetic field of the lower half, to which a current for a bias magnetic field and a current for converting a resistance variation to voltage are supplied from a constant-voltage circuit 6, respectively. Moreover, to one MR element 1 is connected a constant delaying circuit 7 having a prescribed extent of delay, and by differential-amplifying its output and an output of the MR element 2 by a differential-amplifying circuit 5, a reproducing output is obtained. Accordingly, even if the MR elements 1, 2 are installed to the recording track 3 in a state that the azimuth has been inclined, each output phase can be made to coincide to each other, and an even higher harmonic component is removed easily. |
