The invention relates to a self-propelled lift truck for pallets, containers or the like, having a main platform and a bridge platform which can be lifted and lowered independently of one another, the lifting movement of the main platform being effected by fixed hydraulic piston/cylinder arrangements (1) which act on chain arrangements (9) which in each case act on the main frame (2) of the truck and on the main platform (11) and are designed as operating chain and catch chain. The object of the present invention is to create a chain arrangement which is subject to minimum wear and in addition has a low overall depth. This object is achieved by each piston/cylinder arrangement having at least one operating chain (12, 14) and a catch chain (13) which are arranged next to one another. <IMAGE>
