PRACTICE GOLF CLUB AND SYSTEM

A training system for golfers wherein a practice club (1, 2, 10) with a small ball striking surface (3, 5, 6, 7 and 25) is used to hit golf balls (11, 27) that are light weight and preferably very small in diameter. The club's ball striking surface (3, 5, 6, 7, 25) has either a width of 3.5 cm or less or even about 1.5 cm or less, or a convex surface having a radius of less than about 1.25 cm or even about 0.8 cm or less. The practice golf balls (11, 27) may have a diameter of about 1.9 cm and weight about 1.5 g; or the balls may have a diameter of 1.27 cm and weight about 1 g. A mat (12) and net (14) may be used with the club (1, 2, 10) and ball (11, 27). An adaptor (21) having a small ball hitting area (25) may be provided for effectively reducing the size of a conventional golf club head's striking surface (22).
