PURPOSE:To prevent an optical fiber from being damaged by providing optical fiber holding through holes in the center of a resin reservoir at the front end of a gate. CONSTITUTION:A resin reservoir 13 is provided with through holes 14 and 15 where an optical fiber 22 should be held, and a duct 19 consisting of a bridge 17, which is provided for the purpose of preventing the optical fiber from damaged by resin flow, and an optical fiber holding space 18 is coupled to the resin reservoir 13. A connector plug forming resin is fused and passes the resin reservoir 13 from a spool runner 11, and the resin flow is injected into a mold 16 from the bridge part 17 in the axial direction of the optical fiber. Since this resin flow becomes a thin layer flow by the bridge part 17, a fluid shock and a thermal shock to the fiber are relaxed. Thus, a connector plug is closely brought into contact with the outer peripheral surface of the protective layer of the optical fiber to prevent deformation and damage of the optical fiber itself. |
