2',3'-Dideoxy-4-thio-uridine derivatives are disclosed of general formula (I): (wherein R indicates hydrogen or a protecting group such as acetyl, benzoyl or trityl). Processes for their preparation, antivirus agents using them as effective ingredients and therapeutic methods and therapeutic drugs for viral diseases are disclosed.
