Apparatus for the transfer of sweets comprises a transfer wheel U which is provided with pairs of sweet-grippers 7 arranged to rotate about respective axis radial of the wheel for the take-over of the sweets in one orientation from a gripper wheel 1 and the transfer thereof with a wrapper E to a wrapping wheel 2 after the respective pair of grippers have been rotated through 90 DEG . Pivotal devices 7 are disposed between adjacent pairs of grippers and comprise sweet-retaining elements 8 and wrapper-retaining elements 9, each element 8 being pivoted to overlie a gripper-held sweet during rotation of the wheel to a wrapper feed station 21. As the latter, element 8 is pivoted back away from the respective sweet whilst an element 9 of the preceding device 7 is pivoted back towards said sweet to hold a fed-in wrapper as the sweet and wrapper are carried past a horizontal folding bar 22 towards the wrapping wheel. <IMAGE> |
