PURPOSE:To effectively prepare an thin microsection which always provides high reliability, by judging the color change transition of test piece during the polishing process by the through holes formed on a cup-shaped diamond grindstone and a light source body which is internally installed under a test piece clamp. CONSTITUTION:Through holes 12 are formed radially around a rotary shaft 1 onto the top wall 3a of a cup-shaped diamond grindstone 3 having a high rigidity in the axial direction, keeping the rotary shaft 1 as longitudinal axis, and a correct actual cutting quantity. A transparent plate 14 is fitted onto a cylindrical clamp 7 having a test piece 8 mounted and fixed, and a light source body 15 is internally filed under the transparent body 14, and the polishing state for the test piece 8 in the polishing process can be observed through the through holes 12 from outside. Further, when a thin test piece is used, the thickness of the test piece can be detected by judging the color change transition of the quartz contained in the test piece 8 by the transmission of the light which is supplied from the light source body 15 and irradiated onto the transparent plate 14, and the trouble of overrubbing by an operator who is not experienced in the polishing technique can be prevented. |
