PURPOSE:To mass-produce wooly or fibriform metal fiber at low cost by reciprocating a thin metal sheet between a reel at one side and a reel at the other side and cutting in sequence the side edge part of the sheet by a cutting tool disposed at the outside of the side edge part. CONSTITUTION:Two rolls 1 capable of winding and unwinding are arranged parallelly at a distance. A rolled thin metal sheet 2 is alternately wound and unwound from the reel 1 at one side to the reel 1 at the other side to reciprocate the sheet 2 between the two rolls 1. During the reciprocation of it, the side edge part of the sheet 2 is cut in sequence by a cutting tool such as a single point tool or a milling cutter disposed at the outside of said edge part to obtain fibriform cut chips 2A. |
